On July 15, 1986 at 9:30 a.m. Robert Keyser was employed as a driver for an armored car company. Keyser stopped the vehicle on the back parking lot of the Columbia Mall in Howard County, MD and the courier with him got out to make a pick up. When the courier returned the armored car was missing. A search by the courier located the armored car on the Columbia Mall parking lot, however it was adjacent to the Hecht Company. Robert Keyser was inside of the vehicle deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. Money was stolen from the armored car and robbery is believed to have been the motive.
