Leroy Bass was in the business office of the Bass Motel with his thirteen year old niece. Two unidentified African American males entered the office and displayed weapons. Mr. Bass and his niece were taken to the living quarters of the office where the niece was locked in the bathroom. Mr. Bass was shot, causing his death. The niece escaped and called police. Robbery was the apparent motive for the murder.
