On February 1, 1995 about 5:00 p.m., inmate Mack Young walked past a cell and appeared to be having problems breathing. Another inmate summoned aid. Young was taken to the hospital where he died as a result of a puncture wound to his lung. The wound appeared to have been made by a shank. Young failed to identify his attacker(s) while conscious and able to do so. Mack Young was a Maryland Division of Correction inmate housed in Dorm H at the Maryland House of Correction in Jessup, Anne Arundel County, MD at the time of his death.
