​Gibson fell asleep at her residence in Eden, Md, after attending a party at another location with her boyfriend and several other individuals.  Her boyfriend and another person awoke to a fire in the house and were able to escape.  Fire department personnel extinguished the fire and found Gibson deceased in a bedroom.  The Office of the State Fire Marshal investigated the cause of the fire and determined the fire was intentionally set.  Gibson's death was ruled a homicide.
