Members of the public are invited to attend all meetings of this body, the Workgroup to Develop Fire Safety Best Practices for Pre-1974 High Rise Apartment Buildings.
At the inaugural meeting of the workgroup two fact finding subcommittees were formed. Subcommittee (i) and Subcommittee (ii). Meetings of these committees are not deemed to be a meeting of the parent public body and membership does not consist of a number of members of the parent body that would constitute a quorum of the members of the parent body. The Subcommittees are comprised only of members of the parent body and no assigned tasks include policy decisions. Members of the public are invited to audit the subcommittee meetings.
Subcommittee (i) is charged with identifying fire safety risks in high–rise apartment buildings that do not have automatic sprinkler systems or other fire safety technology and will meet virtually on the following dates:

At the inaugural meeting of the Commission, four fact finding Subcommittees were formed as follows: Subcommittee (i) – Consumer and Transportation Applications, Subcommittee (ii) – Utility Applications, Subcommittee (iii) – Prevent, Detect and Suppress Lithium-Ion Fires at Recycling Facilities, and Subcommittee (iv) – Reusing, Recycling and Decommissioning Lithium-Ion Batteries. Meetings of these Subcommittees are not deemed to be a meeting of the parent public body and membership does not consist of a number of members of the parent body that would constitute a quorum of the members of the parent body. The Subcommittees are comprised only of members of the parent body and no assigned tasks include policy decisions.
*Members of the public are invited to audit the Subcommittee meetings.
The Subcommittees are charged with identifying lithium ion-battery fire safety risks and developing recommendations to the Commission for best practices, standards and guidelines to prevent, detect, and suppress lithium-ion battery fires, and reuse, recycle and decommission lithium-ion batteries.
