On May 17, 1965 Jean Welch was found deceased in her home in the 1000 block of Oldtown Road in Cumberland, Allegany County, MD. Welch died as a result of blunt force trauma. It appeared Welch's murder may have been sexually motivated. A suspect was developed however the case was never closed due to lack of evidence.
