On January 10, 1987 the elderly Pennock Polk failed to answer phone calls from his family. Family members called a neighbor who advised there were lights on in Mr. Polk's home on Eden Allen Road in Somerset County, MD. Family members drove to Mr. Polk's residence and entered through an unlocked door. Mr. Polk was found deceased on the floor in a room just off of the kitchen; he had been beaten and shot. Robbery appears to be the motive for the murder.
