​Fire personnel were called to the Thornton residence on Drawbridge Road at 4:57 a.m. for a residential fire.  When the fire was extinguished, two bodies were found in the debris.  The bodies were identified as Joann Wright and Percy Thornton.  An autopsy determined both were dead prior to the fire and both had been shot.  The investigation placed several individuals at the residence during the early morning hours, however insufficient evidence was developed to place charges against these persons.
