If I already have a Class IIIC License, does that permit me to perform all types of work on a fire sprinkler system?

 

​No, you would have to obtain a Class I and and Class IIIc to perform all types of sprinkler work.​

What do the different classes of sprinkler licenses mean?

 

Class I - inspection, testing and maintenance of residential and commercial systems

Class IIa - installation, repair, and modification of residential systems

Class IIb - layout (design) of residential systems

Class IIc - installation, repair, modification and layout (design) of residential systems

Class IId - installation, repair, and modification of residential systems (NFPA 13D)

Class IIIa - installation, repair, and modification of commercial and residential systems

Class IIIb - layout (design) of commercial and residential systems
