On January 9, 1992 at 9:52 p.m., Maurice Grace, who was a Maryland Division of Correction inmate at the time, was returning from the recreation yard when he was stabbed by another inmate causing his death. Grace was housed at the Maryland House of Correction on the rear of B Flats at the time of his death. Suspects were developed, but the case lacked sufficient evidence for trial.
