Continuing Education
· All NRP requirements.
· ACLS, PALS, ITLS.
· Quarterly classroom and simulation training.
· Clinical training at Shock Trauma and Johns Hopkins.

· Full-Time FAA Certified Aircraft Mechanic assigned to each helicopter base.
· 24-hour SYSCOM Helicopter Dispatch Center.
· Full-Time Medical Director
 
 
 
BENEFITS
 
Annual Salary Increases, contingent upon funding, based on 18-step scale to top base pay for a Master Trooper of $106,836.
Automatic Promotions & Salary Increases to Trooper First Class (after three years), Senior Trooper (10 years) and Master Trooper (15 years).
Competitive Promotional Opportunities to Corporal, Sergeant, First Sergeant, Lieutenant and Captain.
Take-Home Car that may be used off-duty in accordance with State Police policy.
Health Insurance 80% subsidized by the State.
State Police Retirement after 25 years or age 50 with up to five years of creditable military service for non-retired military personnel.
All Uniforms and Equipment provided at no cost.
Overtime Opportunities in Aviation and other areas of the Department.
12-Hour Shifts upon assignment to Aviation.
Associates Degree can be earned upon graduation from the Academy at no cost.
 
 
COMPENSATION
 
Base Pay Upon Academy Graduation: $57,651
Uniform Allowance: $1,500 
Fitness Bonus: $1,000
Educational Bonus: $150-500
Shift Differential: $2.00 / hour
 
 
Qualifications
 

The basic qualifications necessary to be considered for the Command as a Trooper/Flight Paramedic (in addition to the basic Trooper qualifications) are:

 
  • National Registry EMT-Paramedic certification
  • Maryland Paramedic certification (or eligibility for reciprocity)
  • ALS field EMS experience.
