Baltimore County Man Facing Charges Following Alleged Road Rage Incident

News |

(ESSEX, MD) – Maryland State Police arrested a man and seized a loaded handgun following an alleged armed road rage incident on the Baltimore Beltway in March.

The accused is identified as Skyler Robinson, 23, of Owings Mills, MD.  Robinson is charged with felony assault, using a gun during a felony crime, possessing a loaded handgun on his person, and related offenses.  Robinson is currently held without bond at the Baltimore County Detention Center.

On March 20, troopers from the Maryland State Police Golden Ring Barrack responded to the outer loop of I-695 in the area of Stevensville Road for a reported road rage incident. The victim reported that the suspect brandished a firearm during the incident and provided law enforcement with the suspect vehicle description and registration plate. No injuries were reported.

Shortly after the incident, a Baltimore County Police officer located the suspect vehicle at a Royal Farms store.  Robinson fled and eluded capture. Investigators with the Maryland State Police Highway Gun Crimes Initiative assumed the investigation.

On April 2, Robinson was arrested by members of the Maryland State Apprehension Team and the U.S. Marshals Service Capital Region Fugitive Task Force.  Robinson was wanted in connection to the road rage incident, and had a separate warrant through the Baltimore County Police for fleeing and eluding.  A search warrant was executed on Robinson’s vehicle by MSP investigators and a loaded un-serialized privately manufactured handgun was seized from underneath the driver’s seat.

The Maryland Department of State Police is dedicated to creating safer communities within Maryland, including actively addressing all reported incidents of gun violence on our highways.
