Death Investigation Continues In Dorchester County

(CHURCH CREEK, MD) The Maryland State Police Homicide Unit continues a death investigation in Dorchester County. 

The identity of the deceased is pending autopsy results.  Investigators are also waiting on autopsy results to determine cause and manner of death.

At approximately 1:50 p.m. on August 15, 2026, deputies from the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of a body of a man located in the phragmites in the area of Golden Hill Road in Church Creek, Maryland. The preliminary investigation indicates a passerby located the body and subsequently called police.

At the request of the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office, the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit responded to lead the investigation.  The circumstances surrounding the death of the unidentified man remain under investigation. There are no further details at this time.
