Maryland State Police Investigating Fatal Crash in Talbot County
(EASTON, MD) – Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred Friday morning in Talbot County.
The deceased is identified as George William Bacorn Jr., 62, of Denton, Maryland. He was pronounced on the scene by emergency services personnel. Bacorn was operating a Chevrolet Tahoe involved in the crash. The driver of a Ford Transit delivery truck involved in the crash, identified as Antonio Jaquan Handy, 31, of Salisbury, Maryland, was transported to a local trauma center by Maryland State Police Aviation Command. No other injuries were reported on the scene.
Shortly before 11:30 a.m., troopers from the Maryland State Police Easton Barrack responded to the area of MD 331 (Dover Road) near Dover Neck Road for a report of a crash. The preliminary investigation indicates that a Chevrolet Silverado and the Tahoe were traveling eastbound on MD 331 when the delivery truck, traveling westbound on MD 331, crossed the center double-yellow line for unknown reasons and struck the side mirror of the Silverado. The delivery truck then continued westbound and struck the Tahoe head-on.
The Maryland State Police Crash Team is leading the active and ongoing investigation. Upon completion, the investigation will be presented to the Office of the State’s Attorney in Talbot County to determine whether charges will be filed.
The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration and Talbot County Sheriff’s Office assisted with road closures, which lasted more than three hours.
