(ROSEDALE, MD) – Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred early this morning in Baltimore County.

The deceased, identified as Francesca Lloyd, 34, of Nottingham, was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased. She was a passenger in a Subaru Outback involved in the crash.  The driver of the Subaru, identified as Gregory Lloyd, 41, also of Nottingham, was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. Police believe the two individuals were married.

The driver of a tractor trailer involved in the incident was uninjured. No other injuries were reported on the scene.

Shortly before 3:00 a.m., troopers from the Maryland State Police JFK Barrack responded to the area of northbound I-95 at mile marker 62.3 for a report of a crash involving a tractor-trailer. The preliminary investigation indicates that the tractor-trailer had a flat tire and was attempting to pull onto the right shoulder when the passenger vehicle struck the rear of the tractor-trailer.

The Maryland State Police Crash Team is leading the crash investigation. Investigators believe impairment may have been a contributing circumstance. Charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.

The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration assisted with road closures that lasted approximately four hours.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
