State Police Investigating Fatal Pedestrian Crash in Baltimore County

(TOWSON, MD) – Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred early Sunday morning in Baltimore County. 

The deceased, identified as a 17-year-old male from Edgewood, Maryland, was pronounced deceased on the scene by emergency medical services personnel. He was one of three passengers in a Lexus IS. The driver of the Lexus, identified as Kyeahle Lamerah Armstead, 18, of Baltimore, Maryland, was transported to a local hospital for treatment. No other injuries were reported on the scene. 

Shortly before 1:30 a.m. on August 2, troopers from the Maryland State Police Golden Ring Barrack responded to the area of outer loop I-695 east of southbound I-83 for a report of a pedestrian-involved crash. The preliminary investigation indicates that the Lexus IS had become inoperable in the far-right lane. The passenger of the Lexus, later identified as the 17-year-old juvenile, was outside the vehicle attempting to change the vehicle’s tire. For unknown reasons at this time, a Honda Accord struck the rear driver's side of the Lexus and then subsequently struck the pedestrian. The driver of the Honda remained on scene. Police believe the Lexus had its hazard lights activated. 

The Maryland State Police Crash Team is leading the crash investigation. The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration assisted with road closures that lasted approximately three hours.
